House Hunting, Virtue... and Helado

We had quite an eventful family home evening tonight! We've been looking for a new place to live because its crazy how many things a baby needs! We're finding our current space is just a tad too small and a little on the expensive side... Within the past month we've been diligently searching KSL and craigslist to find a new apartment within our budget, ward boundaries, fits our space requirement and washer and dryer needs. Nonetheless we went to see a beautiful 3 bedroom house tonight and it's perfect! We're hoping we get it, we applied and now we're just praying it's what Heavenly Father wants for our little family. If it's not i'm positive a door will be opened to where we need to be :) Pray for us!

As for the Virtue... Brett shared and awesome talk with us tonight about virtue. It is amazing! It's a talk from a CES fireside in 2009 by Elaine S. Dalton and it's called Zion is the Pure in Heart. It's a talk directed towards the Young Men and Women of the church but we feel it's so important for our little growing family's future! Well here's an awesome quote by Winston Churchill that Sister Dalton quotes and adjusts for the youth.
"You ask what is our aim? I can answer with one word--Virtue! Virtue at all costs! Virtue in spite of all opposition--Virtue!  However long and hard the road may be to repentance. For without Virtue, there can be no victory!
What a powerful message! We want to make this a goal/motto for our family and we hope to be able to help our children comprehend the importance of virtue in this difficult and immoral world we live in. There is so much opposition to virtue but it must prevail in order for our posterity to continue in righteousness and we want to emphasize this with our children.  The only way to do so is by having the spirit in our home and righteous traditions held here. We realize how important it is to have Family Home Evening for our benefit and for our children to learn correct principles of the gospel. We are so grateful that we have the gospel to guide us and lead us to return to our Heavenly Father. Without it, we would be nothing but thankfully we have it and we'll do all we can to live it.

P.S. BYU Creamery ice cream is so YUMMY!! Between our AMAZING lesson and House hunting, Helado had to be had. :)

Family Home Evening

It´s Monday evening, family night, and we decided to set some personal and family goals! We sure had fun and decided on making a family blog--the Morrison Legacy! Spanish is so much a part of our life that we included a Spanish version of the title mirrored across from the English. We´re planning on doing a little entry each week, sort of like a family journal, where we can include family happenings. We hope one day that this will be a blog that all our family can use to remember when we were just starting out and reflect on all the many changes and happy times over the years.

Today was Brett´s day off so we cleaned house, spent time together, watched Emelina roll over a dozen times and even crawl backwards and sideways so she could get her toys, and just plain had a good time.

Lindsy and Emelina just got back from California for Grandpa Bounds funeral and just before that we all got back from Christmas in California. It sure was fun until Brett and Emelina got sick :( But that´s ok because we got Lindsy´s parents house to ourselves for a week. It sure was nice. Lindsy got Brett a Kindle Fire for school for Christmas and Emelina enjoyed unwrapping her gifts (perhaps more than the gifts themselves).

Love, Brett and Lindsy and Emelina.
